You can do it to. Let the tips guide you into your power of being a conscious, loving parent.
The minefield of parenting
Baffled parents are stumped when it comes to their childrens behaviour. What to feed them, how to raise them, wondering if they love them too much, are they breastfeeding too long (or whether they should start at all), wanting to shield them from the world but also let them experience it. Parenthood can be an amazing journey but it can also be full of doubts, worries and wondering whether youre ever doing the right thing.
Victoria Leith has had a lot of experience with different styles and practises of parenting. Having also had experience of being fostered as a baby and growing up in a home where her parents frequently fostered or cared for other peoples children, living in communities in Africa, working in a camp for underprivileged children in America and working in the mainstream school sector, leading advisory workshops and having a daughter, she has many gems of wisdom to share with you, with tried and tested tips on positive parenting.
From even before pregnancy, Victoria knew that she wanted to raise her child consciously and with a spiritual focus. She believes that through sharing advice and wisdom (and putting those ideas into action) we can raise our children to be confident, happy, creative, inspired, hard-working and caring children. Children, who feel they have a part to play in the world and who want to serve humanity as well as caring for themselves. Children who can deal with the challenges that life doles out and who can also be positive and mindful of their habitat and environment.
A note from Victoria
No one can truly prepare you for the epic journey of raising a child. Its only when you actually do the job that through trial and error you find what works and what doesnt. However its through sharing ideas and helping each other to break old patterns of behaviour, whilst embracing new ones that we can all be better parents and that is why I created this app. I offer these 97 tips as suggestions for you -- and they are not exhaustive! I have gleaned them from my two decades of working with children of all different ages, backgrounds and cultures, from how me and my husband choose to raise our own daughter, and from observing moments in life with friends and family where I feel they have parented in such a beautiful or effective manner, it was worthy to be noted. I have also looked to sacred writings and philosophies for my inspiration on being a parent, particularly the writings of the Bahai faith, of which there are some beautiful gems that I wanted to inadvertently share. What we give to our children now will shape them for the future so its worth investing time and love into your family as much as possible! Ill bet youve got many more tips and ideas up your sleeve that you feel help to raise a child in this ever-changing world.
